'Butterflies & Blossom' Necklace Carving

£975.00
Sold Out
  • OnOne-off piece of wearable art.

  • Signed on the reverse.

  • Carved entirely by hand in English Lime wood.

  • Sustainably sourced, reclaimed wood.

  • Width: 11.5cm (4.3in).

Carved in tribute to the 16th century woodcarver Grinling Gibbons and displayed at a major Gibbons exhibition in 2021, the Butterflies and Blossom necklace has been hand carved entirely by knife from a single, unbroken piece of wood. Representing one of the finest of Giles’ jewellery carvings to date, the necklace is a unique piece of ‘extreme relief’ jewellery; a one off piece of art, signed by the artist and never to be reproduced. Ideal as a gift for a loved one or as an heirloom item to pass down for generations to come.

The pendant can fit on chains up to 2mm thick (chain not included) via the eyelet attachments on the reverse. Larger chains can be accommodated using split rings.

Once carved, the piece has been treated with non-toxic Tung Oil.
